spaulding Elementary School

Spaulding Elementary School serves approximately 100 students from prekindergarten through third grade.  Our school community encourages life-long learning by providing a challenging education while meeting our students' intellectual, social, and emotional needs. The teachers at Spaulding are highly qualified, dedicated professionals.  They work hard to ensure a positive, supportive, and nurturing environment.  We value our partnership with the families of our students creating a true family affair.

From the Principal

Happy Fall Y'all!  I am so honored to be the Principal of Spaulding School.  As we enter the month of October, Spaulding School is celebrating kindness.  Each student received a purple bracelet that says, "Cool to be Kind".  Each day will have a kindness challenge along with the opportunity to be "caught" being kind.  Each time a child is "caught" being kind, a link will be added to the Hall of Kindness.  I can't wait to see how many links our Spaulding Sharks earn!  To spread our kindness in the community, we will be collecting new pairs of socks to help Mrs. Frangella's students at Springfield School in their Socktober Sock Drive.  The collected socks will be donated to PADS helping the homeless in the South Suburbs.  Socks are one of the items least donated that are so important, especially as the weather turns colder.

Spaulding is always looking for parents to work along side the staff by joining the Parent Group.  The Parent Group helps make important decisions for the school as well as plan many exciting events.  The Parent Group usually meets once a month, after school from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.  By joining the Parent Group, you will get to meet other Spaulding parents and families and truly help make a difference in your child's school.  Our next meeting will be Wednesday, November 13th at 3:00 pm.  Childcare will be provided.  If you have any questions, please call the office at 708-385-4546.

Each month at Spaulding School, we celebrate students who model the 8 Keys of Excellence.  The 8 Keys of Excellence are not just part of a character education program for students but principles for all of us to live by!  The 8 Keys are:  Integrity, Commitment, Failure Leads to Success, Ownership, Speak With Good Purpose, Flexibility, Balance, and This Is It!  If you would like more information on the 8 Keys of Excellence, please visit www.8keys.org.
