Kolmar Families & Friends,

Happy New Year and Welcome Back Mustangs! The new year brings with it many exciting opportunities to reflect on past experiences and to create new memories. Take time over the next few weeks to share with your family the memories of 2019 and create new goals for 2020! Share your goals with each other and make a commitment to check back in throughout the year on your progress.

I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to our Parent Group for all the hard work they put in before Christmas break with their Mobile Ice Cream Shoppe. On Friday, December 13, students were treated to an ice cream sundae by the members of our Parent Group members who were dressed in festive holiday gear and went classroom to classroom spreading their holiday cheer.

Also, Friday, December 20 was Pie an Administrator/Teacher Day. Students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade had an assembly where students who raised the most money selling Mrs. Fields Cookie Dough were able to pie an administrator. Additionally, junior high students raised money to pie their teachers by raising money for the Illinois Association of Junior High Student Council's (IAJHSC) State Service Project. This was a fun event for all - especially the teachers and administrators who were covered in sticky, white, whipped cream!

I hope that everyone is well rested from the holiday break and we are ready to continue working hard throughout the rest of 2nd quarter. The 2nd quarter ends on January 24. Continue to push yourselves throughout the next few weeks and have that positive momentum continue into the 3rd quarter. A reminder that Parent-Teacher Conferences are Thursday, February 13 from 1:00 until 7:00. We hope to see you all there.

Continue to check back for important dates and information! Happy New Year!

Important reminders.

WEATHER - As we are now in January, it is important to remember that the weather will begin to look like winter. It is hard to believe with the weather we have been having, but eventually, it will get cold and begin to snow. Please remember to bundle up your children when you sent them off to school.

ATTENDANCE - Please use the 24-hour attendance line (708-385-6747) to call in an absence for your children.

If your phone number or emergency contacts have changed since registration, send a note to the school office so we can update your records, helping us to better serve your needs.

If your phone number is not accurate, you will not receive the automatic school closing calls in case of extreme weather conditions.
